Warwickshire based museum, the Stratford Armouries has partnered with Wizzleworld Dramatics, who provide community based specialist drama programmes for 3 – 11 year old children to stage a family focussed 2 –day Christmas Fayre on 29th and 30th of November from 11.30 to 6.00pm.

The team are all set to deliver a unique and exciting take on a traditional Christmas event to Warwickshire families. The great news is that if you can’t make Saturday, then you can always come along on Sunday!

Adults will enjoy a 70% discount to enter the museum and also browse the fayre, paying only £2 to visit over 30 Christmas gift and craft indoor and outdoor stalls in the fantastic and intriguing setting of The Stratford Armouries military history museum on Gospel Oak Lane, Pathlow, Stratford. Entrance for children will be free.

The playbarn at The Armouries will be open from 10.00 to 5.30pm for soft play fun and the café will also be open from 11.00 to 5.30pm serving mince pies, mulled wine and other refreshments together with a number of other hot and cold refreshment providers selling delicious food and drink at the Christmas Fayre.

A fun and varied day out for the whole family, children will also be able to enjoy pottery painting and a visit to Father Christmas in his Grotto between 11.30am and 2.30pm to receive a very special gift, all available at very reasonable prices. As one of the exhibitors will be a local photographer, capturing this may prove a great Christmas gift idea for relatives.

Stratford Armouries museum is also the home of the national collection of model soldiers and as a result, over the course of the weekend, Wizzleworld Dramatics will be staging a parallel festive ‘Nutcracker’ themed Christmas activity programme at The Armouries museum each day at a cost of just £15 per child. The activity programme will run from 2.30pm to 5.30pm and will include entrance to the Christmas Fayre, participation in Christmas craft activities, a fully interactive Christmas story and later in the day, carol singing by candlelight together with a visit to Father Christmas who will provide each child with a special gift and as part of the activity programme, will be available between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.

To truly capture the essence of Christmas, Stratford Music Centre will provide the musical accompaniment to the carol singing which will take place outside and include a candlelit procession to the Forest of Hearts, just a few steps away where all visitors are invited to join in.

Finally, visitors can try their luck with the Christmas raffle, with gifts kindly donated by local shops and restaurants and all proceeds going the Heart Research UK ‘Helping Little Hearts Appeal’. The funds will help children born with heart defects or who have had heart surgery by providing a rehabilitation toolkit to help them lead healthy, physically active lives.

Over the next few months the rehabilitation programme will be piloted at four paediatric cardiac units including Birmingham as a precursor to a national roll-out.
