Stratford fete helping hearts in the Midlands

Hearts in the Midlands, a garden project in Stratford upon Avon and children and communities in Africa are all set to benefit from a traditional fete being held on the banks of the River Avon on 18 September. This will take place at Riverside in Tiddington, Stratford upon Avon.

The Forest of Hearts fete at Riverside in Stratford will be raising funds for Heart Research UK in the Midlands, Forest of Hearts, and the charity Goodwill and Growth for Africa.

The event will have a “well-being” theme as well as sideshows like a Dog Show, a Cake Bake, Hoola Hoops and “welly wanging”.  There will also be craft, plant and food and drink stalls.

Entry fee is £2 for adults with children free – and free parking, free fruit and free music.

Participants can also take part in a raffle to win seven nights holiday accommodation for four people to Pernera in Cyprus donated by Blue Spice Resort. .

Heart Research UK in the Midlands raises funds to help hearts near you, having funded £1.25m of research in the Midlands in the last 15 years as well as £250,000 on healthy heart grants.

The forest garden at Stratford upon Avon is an exciting new project which will provide a valuable community asset for this much visited part of leafy Warwickshire.

Run by a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) it promotes accessible and sustainable agroforestry, or “Forest Gardens” which exist for enjoyment, education, volunteering and also support good causes”

Goodwill and Growth for Africa UK is generating growth for African children and communities devastated by HIV-AIDS and poverty, through the goodwill of people in the UK and elsewhere. Funds from the fete will contribute to their projects in Africa, including support of a rural clinic in South Africa which helps thousands access medical care each year.
